The Scripta Manent V International Exhibition of Artistic bookbinding in Tallinn, Estonia opens in the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design from 12th February until 13 May 2015.

Purple Cloud will participate in the 2013 Australian Bookbinders Exhibition with two books:

'Song of Songs' a collection of poems in 'Pompidou' binding in black and taupe suede cover with gold handwritten title


'Victory over Defeat' - photos by Susan Buchanan ....photobook of individually made laminated pages in a 'rod' binding


Exhibition opens on the 6 November in the Library of the NSW Art Gallery and will be open until 13th December.



With great excitement and pride, we announce that this year Purple Cloud has been awarded two prizes in the bookbinding section of the Sydney Royal Art Show, held each year as a part of the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Our book, “Two People” by A.A. Milne won second prize in the traditional case binding category.  A 1932 edition of the book is re-bound in a simple and elegant paper and leather cover    Our second entry in the book art category titled ‘The Bookish Alphabet ” has won third prize.  The book is a contemporary version of the medieval girdle books.
